In March 2020, six departments including the National Standardization Administration Committee, the Ministry of industry and information technology, the Ministry of science and technology and the Ministry of Education issued the action plan for piloting additive manufacturing standards (2020-2022), proposing that by 2022, a new standard system for additive manufacturing based on national conditions and international connection will be basically established. In addition, it promoted the formulation of 2-3 advantageous additive manufacturing technologies and standards in China as international standards, the conversion rate of international standards for additive manufacturing reached 90%, and the international competitiveness of additive manufacturing standards continued to improve. The release of the pilot action plan for additive manufacturing standards (2020-2022) will benefit domestic 3D printing enterprises. First of all, industry standardization is conducive to eliminate backward technologies and production capacity and improve the overall level of the industry, so as to enhance the competitiveness of domestic 3D printing and put the development of the industry on the right track. Secondly, China Additive Standardization Committee will be in line with international standards and achieve the goal of 90% conversion rate of international standards, which will enhance the voice of domestic 3D printing industry, make domestic technology, patents and other knowledge values play a greater influence in the world, and promote domestic enterprises to the global market. Thirdly, the policy and capital preference will form a positive thrust for domestic 3D printing enterprises, attract foreign capital and venture capital to enter the domestic market, accelerate the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, especially start-ups in the field of 3D printing, and quickly grow into a leading enterprise in the industry. Finally, the establishment of industry standards will accelerate the construction of talent training system, train a group of additive professional and technical workers and scientific research talents from higher vocational schools to colleges and universities and research institutions, promote the large-scale popularization of 3D printing industry, and accelerate the maturity of technology and application. On March 3, 2020, the Ministry of science and technology, the development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of education, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the natural science foundation of China issued a notice on printing and distributing the work plan for strengthening "from 0 to 1" basic research, including 3D printing, laser manufacturing, artificial intelligence and other major fields. The plan proposes that the national science and technology plan highlights major scientific issues in supporting key core technologies. We will provide long-term support for major scientific issues in key core technologies in response to major national needs. Among them, 3D printing is listed as the key supported object.
